Investment Authority Urges Newly Appointed Ambassadors to Prioritise Investment Promotion

Khartoum – Sudanhorizon

The Secretary-General of the National Investment Authority affirmed that Sudanese diplomacy is the wing that carries the country’s economy towards the outside world.

During a farewell meeting at her office in Khartoum on Thursday with a group of ambassadors appointed to represent Sudan in several countries, she explained that attracting investment is no longer the sole responsibility of the authority, but a shared national duty requiring concerted efforts from all parties.

She stressed the need to place investment promotion at the forefront of the daily agendas of Sudanese embassies in their host countries, establish direct channels of communication with investors, and attract investment to Sudan to help rebuild what the war has destroyed. She also called on the ambassadors to provide the National Investment Authority with information on the needs of their host countries’ markets and the opportunities in which Sudan could compete, while giving particular attention to promoting reconstruction projects prepared by the authority in cooperation with relevant entities.

She emphasised the importance of every embassy serving as a mobile investment office for Sudan, presenting an accurate picture of the country’s abundant resources and promising opportunities. She affirmed the authority’s commitment to providing the embassies with all the necessary support materials and promotional resources.

For their part, the ambassadors expressed their appreciation for the valuable meeting, affirming that they would make investment a top priority and work to convey a positive image of Sudan, helping create favourable conditions for the return of Sudanese capital held abroad and attracting foreign investment.
