Khartoum – Sudanhorizon
Sudanese writer Abdelaziz Baraka Sakin, a member of the Committee for Preparing the Dialogue, arrived in the country this morning to join the committee’s work and contribute to its efforts aimed at fostering a suitable environment for launching an inclusive national dialogue.
He was received by committee members Osman Mirghani Abdullah and engineer Osman Mirghani, who also serves as the committee’s official spokesperson.
Baraka Sakin is one of the most prominent contemporary Sudanese writers. His works address issues such as marginalization, war, and poverty, as well as social and political transformations, employing a critical, realistic style that blends Standard Arabic with the Sudanese vernacular. His books have gained widespread circulation, despite some having been confiscated and banned within Sudan for years.
His participation is expected to strengthen the committee’s engagement with various political, civil, and societal forces, and to support efforts toward establishing common ground for addressing the current crisis and achieving national consensus.
