Sudan’s Youth Team Advances to the Round of 16 in Tier 5 of the World Cup

Baku – Sudanhorizon

The Sudanese youth team (under 15) has advanced to the Round of 16 in Tier 5 of the World Cup currently being held in Azerbaijan. They secured their position by defeating Saint Kitts—representing the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF)—in a penalty shootout. The match had ended in a 3–3 draw after regulation time. The game took place this Wednesday morning and was attended by FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
The Sudanese team had finished fifth in their group, following losses to Russia, Turkey, and Afghanistan, a draw against Sierra Leone, and a victory over Djibouti.

It is worth noting that FIFA has introduced a new format in which teams compete across various tiers within each group.
