Sudanese Embassy in China Participates in Organising Liaoning–Sudan Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference

The seventh China International Investment and Trade Fair featured the Liaoning–Sudan Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference, organised by the Liaoning Provincial Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Sudan in China, with several Chinese companies and businesspeople participating.
During the conference, the Embassy presented three papers on Sudan’s economic and investment opportunities, focusing on mining, agriculture, agro-processing, and oil and gas. Participating Chinese companies, meanwhile, delivered presentations on opportunities for cooperation in the energy, construction, equipment, and technology sectors.
The Embassy of the Republic of Sudan in China also set up an information pavilion as part of the exhibition, showcasing Sudan’s economic resources and investment potential, as well as opportunities available to Chinese companies and investors. The pavilion sought to raise awareness of the Sudanese market and open the way for new partnerships and investment.
Sudanese Radio correspondent in Beijing, Osama Mukhtar, reported that, alongside the conference and exhibition, Sudanese Ambassador Omar Issa Ahmed held a number of meetings with representatives of Chinese companies operating in the electricity sector. The discussions explored opportunities for cooperation and ways of benefiting from Chinese expertise and technology in rehabilitating and developing Sudan’s electricity sector.
Sudanese participation also included visits to several industrial institutions and companies in Liaoning Province, including the provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce, Jinbei (Shenyang) Automobile, and TBEA Energy. The meetings addressed opportunities for industrial, commercial, and investment cooperation and explored areas where Chinese companies and institutions could contribute to Sudan’s development and reconstruction efforts.
The ambassador called on the participating Chinese companies to move from identifying opportunities to taking practical steps towards investment and partnerships in Sudan by identifying priority sectors and projects and exploring areas of cooperation, particularly in mining; agriculture and agro-processing; oil and gas; renewable energy; industrial and mining equipment and machinery; infrastructure; and logistics services.
At the conclusion of his participation, Ambassador Omar Issa Ahmed stressed that the Sudanese Embassy in China would continue working to strengthen links between Sudanese and Chinese private-sector stakeholders and facilitate access to available investment opportunities. He said this would help build long-term economic partnerships that support Sudan’s development efforts and strengthen the strategic partnership between Sudan and China.
It is worth noting that the China International Investment and Trade Conference and Exhibition in Liaoning Province, whose editions have been held since 2020, is one of the province’s important platforms for promoting economic openness and trade and investment cooperation with international markets, while connecting local companies and institutions with partners and investors from around the world.
