Ambassadors From EU Support Sudanese-Sudanese Dialogue
Cairo – Sudanhorizon
The committee tasked with preparing for the Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue held a significant meeting on Thursday with a group of European Union ambassadors. The group included the ambassadors of Slovakia, Finland, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Poland, and Hungary, as well as the EU Ambassador to Sudan (currently based in Cairo).
Hosted in Cairo at the invitation of Slovak Ambassador Jozef Hodic, the meeting lasted several hours. The parties agreed to maintain ongoing communication and consultation after discussing the details of the committee’s mandate and its extensive consultations with political and civil society forces.
According to the Sudan News Agency (SUNA), the ambassadors expressed their support for the Sudanese dialogue initiative, viewing it as the only solution to the country’s political crisis—the repercussions of which have led to war and the dire conditions currently endured by the Sudanese people, particularly displacement and the need to seek refuge.
