The Technical Committee on Illegal Collection, chaired by Mohamed Ahmed Al-Haj, has ordered the removal of three collection points along the Khartoum–Madani national highway. These included one checkpoint in the Al-Baqir area and two at the Abu Ushar crossing in Al-Kamilin locality.

The committee’s head stated in remarks to the Sudan News Agency that the objective of the inspection tour—covering Al Jazirah, Sennar, and Blue Nile states—is to review all collection, security, and oversight points to ensure that all fee collection activities are lawful. He emphasized that national highways should be free of any collection points, except for legally sanctioned toll fees.

He added that the tour also aims to prevent overlaps between state-level regulations and federal laws, and to review local orders in a way that facilitates traffic flow. He stressed that any imposed fee must correspond to an actual service provided.

The committee further highlighted the importance of adhering to bank-based revenue collection to combat off-book practices, corruption, and bribery, stressing that all collection processes must fully comply with governing laws and regulations.
