Amri Residents Stage Sit-in to Protest Nile Poultry Company’s Actions

On Sunday, residents of Amri area staged a sit-in at the headquarters of the Agricultural Development Authority to protest the procedures and decisions related to the Nile Poultry Company, one of the Authority’s subsidiaries.

The sit-in comes amidst widespread discontent among Amri residents regarding the company’s situation, the fate of its assets, and the area’s rights. They demanded that the relevant authorities clarify the facts and reveal the legal and administrative basis upon which the recent actions were taken.

The sit-in saw broad participation from residents, exceeding one hundred, who expressed their rejection of any arrangements or decisions concerning the company made without the involvement of the true stakeholders. They emphasized their commitment to the rights of the people of Amri and the necessity of considering these rights in any decisions regarding the project’s future.

Amri residents affirmed that their sit-in is part of a peaceful and legitimate demand for their rights. They called upon the relevant authorities to engage in direct dialogue with them to hear their demands and reach a fair solution that safeguards the rights of the area and the stakeholders.

It is worth noting that the Agricultural Development Authority has continued to play its role in the field of social responsibility by supporting a number of projects and initiatives in the area, which confirms the importance of reaching a solution that preserves the rights of all parties and takes into account the developmental and societal role of the Authority.
