The Central Bank of Sudan (CBS )announced on Sunday the extension of the deadline for updating customer data and classifying accounts until the end of 2026. In a statement issued by its Corporate Communications Department, the bank explained that the extension aims to provide all customers with the opportunity to fulfill procedural requirements and to accommodate the circumstances of some clients.

The bank clarified that this step is taken to ensure the safety of public deposits and customer funds, and to complement the directives issued to banks last February regarding the implementation of regulatory controls, international requirements, and measures to combat money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

The statement indicated that a number of banks have already completed the update process, while work continues in the remaining institutions of the banking sector.

The Central Bank urged the public and all bank customers to expedite the updating of their data by submitting the required documents within the specified period to guarantee the protection of their rights and the continued smooth flow of banking services. The Central Bank of Sudan also revealed that it has begun working on integrating the use of digital identity (SudaPass) into data update procedures, within the framework of the state’s general direction towards digital transformation and facilitating governmental and banking transactions.
