The Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hussein Awad, has said he is expecting a major breakthrough in the Sudanese crisis in light of the visit of the Sovereign Council President, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, to the United States of America to attend the meetings of the 79 th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Awad told Sudanhorizon news website in an interview to be published later, that important meetings will be held between Al-Burhan and American officials on the sidelines of the General Assembly.
He added these meetings will discuss the crisis which will be placed in its correct context and perspectives denuding the extent of the conspiracy led by some regional countries that falsely claim to be neutral and that they confine their role to humanitarian domains alone
The minister added that international reports have revealed this conspiracy led by that statelet which they explicitly named.
He cited the New York Times report of published on Saturday, which indicated that its editors conducted a full and detailed investigation into what the UAE was involved under the cover of a hospital in Chad, which it claimed was being used to treat wounded and providing medical services.
He said that all evidence possessed by the Sudan are now being recognized by international organizations, and that all reaffirmed the UAE has been playing other hidden and secret roles.
He said it was clear to all that the UAE was exploiting the emblems of the International Red Cross, through which the national Red Crescent societies were established, as the UAE is exploiting the emblems of the Red Cross and Red Crescent for purposes other than those specified by the Vienna Conventions. He added that what the UAE has been doing is in violation of these conventions governing humanitarian work, and that this was the tip of the iceberg of what it has been doing by exploiting the organizations that distribute relief and aid to the distressed, for passing its secret agenda which affect the Sudan
