Sudan Condemns Attacks against Several Arab State

The Sudanese government condemned on Wednesday the attacks that targeted the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the Republic of Iraq, in which missiles and drones have been used, stressing that this constitutes a blatant violation of the sovereignty of these Arab countries and a direct threat to their security and stability.
In a statement, the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced Sudan’s categorical rejection of any aggression that infringes upon the sovereignty of states or threatens their security and territorial integrity.
The Ministry emphasized that such acts would undermine regional security and stability, expand the circle of tension in the region, and reduce the chances of success for peace initiatives adopted by some countries in the region.
Two explosions were heard on Wednesday morning in the skies over Aqaba, after the Jordanian Armed Forces intercepted missiles and drones coming from Iran, without any casualties or material damage being reported.
A Jordanian military source stated that air defense systems detected six missiles launched from Iranian territory toward the Kingdom and engaged them immediately upon their entry into Jordanian airspace. The source explained that air defenses intercepted four missiles, while the other two landed in remote, uninhabited areas, causing no injuries or material damage.
In a related development, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Al-Budaiwi, stated that Iran continues its missile and drone attacks on GCC member states and other countries in violation of international law.
Al-Budaiwi added, during a UN Security Council session titled “Natural Resource Governance: A Pillar for Peace, Security, and Prosperity,” that Iran’s attacks on countries in the region disrupt development and stability and pose serious risks to the global economy.
He added that Iran’s behavior is unacceptable, contradicts the UN Charter, and undermines international efforts to achieve peace.
He called on the Security Council and the international community to put an end to what he described as Iranian aggression and attacks.
Al-Badawi stated that Iran’s targeting of shipping and its attempts to prevent the passage of vessels threaten freedom of navigation and civilians, emphasizing that any attack on maritime routes impacts global energy security.
