Sudanese Army and Shield Forces Capture Main Entrance to Wad Madani
Wad Madani – Sudanhorizon
Since yesterday morning (Thursday), the Sudanese army and Shield Forces of Sudan, led by Abu Aqila Keikal, have taken control of a main entrance to Wad Madani, the capital of Al-Gezira State, amid progress on several fronts.
Field sources informed Sudanhorizon that the forces captured the Al-Aribab area, which serves as the eastern gateway to Wad Madani, located on the main road connecting the city to other cities in eastern Sudan.
The sources also indicated that militia forces withdrew, taking with them families of those cooperating with them from several areas in the southern part of Al-Gezira State. However, the rest of their forces remained stationed at Bridge 77 after the army took control of Bridge 57, one of the key entry points to Wad Madani from the southwestern side of the city.
The sources confirmed that the army’s forces in the western axis, coming from the city of Managil, have seized several areas around Beika Bridge, which is located 15 kilometres from Wad Madani.
