Mohamed Zakaria After Calling on Burhan: Ending the Rebellion According to the Jeddah Declaration

Dr. Mohamed Zakaria, the official spokesperson for the Democratic Bloc, has spokesn about the outcome of the bloc’s leadership meeting with the Chairman of the Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.
He said the two sides discussed the evolving political and security situation in the country, the latest developments in the war, and efforts aimed at achieving peace and launching a comprehensive Sudanese political process.
Zakaria explained in an exclusive statement to Sudanhorizon news website that the Chairman of the Sovereign Council emphasized during the meeting his commitment to reaching a purely Sudanese solution to the crisis through a dialogue led by the Sudanese themselves, with the participation of all political, civil, and societal forces, via two parallel and complementary tracks.
The first track is a political one that includes civil, political, and societal forces, while the second concerns security arrangements involving the armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militias, in accordance with the principles of the Jeddah Declaration.
He said this aims to dismantle the RSF and end the rebellion.
The spokesperson added that Burhan emphasized that what is known as the “Tassis” represents a political front for the RSF, stressing that there is no place for any separatist entity within the political process or the national dialogue.
The official spokesperson for the bloc indicated that the Chairman of the Sovereign Council reiterated the state’s commitment to implementing the outcomes of the national dialogue, calling on political and national forces to take practical steps to pave the way for the launch of the political process, while continuing to work on creating a suitable environment for the success of the Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue.
Zakaria quoted Burhan as expressing his appreciation for the role played by Sudan’s friends at the regional and international levels in supporting efforts to end the crisis and assist those affected by the war. He also affirmed that the armed forces are steadily progressing towards completing the liberation of Sudanese territory from the rebellion.
According to Zakaria, the Chairman of the Sovereign Council also praised the national role played by the Democratic Bloc and the national forces, and their supportive stance towards state institutions since the outbreak of the war.
He called on the components of the bloc to overcome their internal differences through dialogue and consensus. He affirmed that the bloc reiterated its full support for the Sudanese Armed Forces during the meeting and welcomed the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council’s readiness to launch a Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue and establish a political solution that guarantees the participation of all Sudanese, based on preserving Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and the unity of its institutions.
He added that the bloc also affirmed its commitment to continuing positive communication with various Sudanese civil forces, in order to contribute to the success of the national dialogue and to achieving lasting peace and comprehensive stability in the country.
