The tour included a visit to the Kosti Water Station, established through cooperation between the Japan International Cooperation Agency and White Nile State. The project aims to purify drinking water and provide clean water services to several localities across the state. The delegation also visited the new drinking water station in the city of Rabak, where the minister reviewed the progress of construction and the various implementation stages.

The Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation praised the efforts being made by the ministry’s drinking water administration in coordination with the White Nile State Drinking Water Authority. He commended the strong support given by the state governor to development and essential service projects, particularly water projects.

He noted that White Nile State has distinguished itself by establishing a specialized water services company and expressed hope that the model would be replicated across other Sudanese states due to its success in improving and expanding water supply services.

The minister explained that the new Rabak Water Station is expected to meet approximately 75 percent of the drinking water needs of Rabak and surrounding peripheral areas, representing a significant addition to the state’s service infrastructure.

For his part, Governor Qamar Al-Din Mohamed Fadl Al-Mawla announced that the station is expected to be inaugurated next month. He described the project as one of the state’s strategic initiatives that will contribute to stabilizing water services and improving supply levels for residents.

The governor also praised the minister’s concern for citizens’ needs and his commitment to conducting field visits to monitor projects directly, noting that the visit had boosted the morale of workers and encouraged them to complete the project on schedule.

Meanwhile, the State Minister of Infrastructure and Urban Development, Engineer Yousif Fadl Al-Mawla, stated that efforts are underway to increase water production and supply capacity through the installation of several new pumps.
