Minister of Energy Al-Mu’tasim Ibrahim Ahmed Ali emphasized the strategic importance of the Sudanese Petroleum Pipelines Company in transporting and distributing petroleum products, noting that its operations have contributed significantly to the stability and security of fuel supplies across the country.
The remarks came during the minister’s visit to the company’s headquarters on Tuesday to inspect ongoing operations and extend Eid al-Adha greetings to employees. During the visit, he stated that Sudan is entering a phase of peace and stability that will require substantial efforts to improve services provided to citizens in line with the needs of the residential, industrial, and agricultural sectors that support national economic growth.
The minister praised the efforts of the company’s workforce and their role in ensuring the safe and regular transportation of petroleum products from Port Sudan to fuel distribution stations serving the states through facilities in Al-Hudi, Atbara, Khartoum, and Wad Madani via the company’s pipeline network.
For his part, the company’s General Manager, Mohamed Saleh, said that the company has completed maintenance and rehabilitation work on a large number of its stations and storage facilities. He affirmed that employees continue to perform their duties efficiently and professionally to improve and expand transportation capacity in line with the country’s needs.
Saleh added that the company plays a central role in fuel distribution through its 8-inch and 12-inch pipeline networks extending from Port Sudan to the states of River Nile, Northern, Khartoum, Al Jazirah (Wad Madani), Sennar, and White Nile.
He also highlighted the successful partnership with GIAD Industrial Group, which resulted in the manufacture of equipment and the implementation of the Al-Jaili–Wad Madani pipeline project as part of efforts to localize the petroleum industry.
The General Manager noted that the company ultimately aims to connect all Sudanese states through an integrated network for the transportation and distribution of petroleum products.
