Headed by Burhan, the Sudanese Security and Defense Council Reviews Security Situation in the Country

The Security and Defense Council held its regular meeting in Khartoum on Tuesday, chaired by Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Chairman of the Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), with the full participation of its members. The Council reviewed the security situation in the country.

In a press statement, Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Hassan Daoud Kabroun, said that the Council commended the Armed Forces and their supporting forces on the various battlefronts, congratulating them on the significant victories achieved in South Kordofan, Blue Nile State, and Darfur. He explained that the Council emphasized during the meeting the importance of adhering to the law, respecting the country’s sovereignty and human rights, and stressed the necessity of securing basic services, particularly electricity and drinking water, to citizens returning to the country.
The Council directed the competent authorities to control the movements of individuals and combat and armed vehicles within cities and markets, in addition to putting in place the necessary controls for security cells in localities, and working to identify those cooperating with the rebel militia, with a focus on investigations regarding them. Meanwhile, the Security and Defense Council offered its condolences for the martyrs of the Battle of Dignity, wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded and injured, and the safe return of prisoners and missing persons.
