West Darfur Governor: Militia Leaders Defections Indicate the Collapse of Dagalo Family’s Dreams

Sudanhorizon – Mariam Abashar
The Governor of West Darfur State considered the defection of former Rapid Support Forces (RSF) commander Ali Rizqallah “Al-Safna,” and before him, “Al-Nur Al-Qubba,” a clear indication that the project of chaos and destruction adopted by the rebel militias has begun to crumble from within, and that disintegration and fragmentation are rapidly undermining its illusions and foundations.
General Bahr al-Din Adam Karama told Sudanhorizon that the successive defections reflect the truth that many have consistently emphasized: that projects built on rebellion, bloodshed, and targeting innocent civilians cannot endure or withstand the will of the people and the unity of nations. He added that the dreams pursued by the Dagalo family and those within its orbit are now collapsing under the weight of public awareness and the steadfastness of the armed forces and other security forces participating alongside them.
He stated that Darfur region has paid a heavy price as a result of projects of chaos and infighting, and its people have suffered displacement, homelessness, and a loss of security and stability. This necessitates that everyone stand united behind the state and its national institutions to restore security and build a genuine and just peace that preserves the dignity of the citizen and the unity of Sudan.
Karama appealed to those who have sided with the project of chaos and destruction or taken up arms against their homeland and their people, urging them to return to reason and wisdom and to reconsider their positions before it is too late. He emphasized that the homeland is large enough for everyone and that history will not forgive those who caused the suffering of the innocent and tore apart the social fabric.
He also extended a similar invitation to those who have been misled to seize the opportunity and return to the national fold, siding with the interests, security, and stability of Sudan. He added that Sudan is greater than conspiracies and more enduring than projects of fragmentation and division, and that its people are capable of overcoming adversity and building a future of peace, unity, and justice.
