CBS: Friday Deadline For Currency Change In 3 States

The Central Bank of Sudan (CBS) on Sunday announced that the currency exchange period in each of Khartoum, Gezira, and White Nile states ends on Friday, May 15.

The Central Bank launched the second phase of the currency exchange (1000 and 500 Sudanese pound denominations – old print) on April 15 in the states of Khartoum, Gezira, and White Nile, setting a one-month deadline for completing the process.
The CBS stated at the time that the move aims to reorganize the banking system and facilitate digital transformation, and attract the old print notes into bank accounts system.
