The Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, Chancellor Mohamed Nour Abdel Daem, is heading the Ministry of Finance delegation participating in the annual Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, which began two days ago in Washington, D.C., and continues until 18 April.
In press statements on Wednesday, Chancellor Mohamed Nour Abdel Daem affirmed that Sudan will present a clear vision for economic reform during the meetings, based on increasing production and exports and empowering the private sector. He pointed out that side meetings with international financial institutions represent an opportunity to showcase promising investment opportunities in productive sectors.
Sudan’s participation this year includes a technical delegation from the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Sudan, confirming the government’s commitment to the economic recovery programme and its openness to the international community.
The meetings aim to explore prospects for global economic growth and enhance financial stability, with a focus on the priorities of developing countries, particularly in supporting development programmes and financing productive projects to create job opportunities and achieve sustainable growth, alongside addressing debt issues and exploring financing mechanisms for developing nations.
Additionally, the meetings provide a platform for exchanging expertise in fiscal and monetary policies and in digital transformation to enhance government performance, attract quality investments, and affirm Sudan’s ability to return as a promising economic partner.
The Central Bank of Sudan delegation, headed by the Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan, Amna Mirghani, is also participating in the meetings, as part of full coordination between fiscal and monetary policies to support the stability of the Sudanese economy.
