AU Peace and Security Council Delegation to Begin High-Level Talks in Khartoum on Sunday

A fifteen-member delegation from the African Union Peace and Security Council, headed by Algeria’s representative to the African Union and the Council’s chair for this month, arrived in the country on Saturday evening.
According to the arrangements, the delegation will engage in a series of intensive and important meetings and discussions in the capital, Khartoum, on Sunday, including with the country’s leaders.
The delegation members are expected to meet with the Chairman of the Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the Prime Minister, Kamil Idris, in addition to holding a number of meetings with leaders of political forces and civil society organizations.
The discussions will focus on the latest developments and the humanitarian situation following the security tensions in the country, as well as the anticipated efforts that the African Union is expected to undertake in the coming period as part of its endeavors to engage constructively in the Sudanese crisis.
