Khartoum – Sudanhorizon
The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has appealed to the leadership of Iraq and Kuwait to prioritize dialogue and wisdom in resolving their disputes amicably, embodying the spirit of reconciliation, solidarity, and good neighborliness, based on the fraternal and historical ties that bind the two nations.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the Ministry said it is following with great attention and deep concern Iraq’s submission of lists of maritime coordinates that have sparked the dispute with the State of Kuwait.
The Ministry affirmed Sudan’s respect for Kuwait’s sovereignty over all its national territory and its commitment to ensuring its unity, in accordance with international laws and relevant international and bilateral agreements, including UN Security Council Resolution 833 (1993) and other relevant United Nations resolutions.
The ministry underlined that the Sudan reiterated its call, based on its firm belief in resolving disputes between brotherly nations peacefully, for both sides to commit to de-escalation and activate diplomatic channels to ensure the stability of the region.
