The Bank of Khartoum Restores its SMS Service

Bank of Khartoum has announced the official restoration of its SMS service for customers, coinciding with significant progress in refunding deposit guarantee fund deductions.
In a press release issued on Saturday, the bank stated that the service is a step aimed at enhancing trust and developing digital services amidst the exceptional circumstances the country is experiencing.
The bank emphasized that restoring the SMS service is part of intensive technical and technological efforts to rehabilitate the infrastructure damaged by the war. This service is considered a cornerstone for ensuring the security of banking operations, as it allows customers to monitor their account activity in real time, thus increasing self-monitoring and protection against fraud.
Immediate Refunds of Deposit Guarantee Funds:
Regarding the deposit guarantee fund deductions, the bank revealed that immediate refunds have commenced through an integrated system operating around the clock. The statement clarified that the bank has already successfully returned funds to more than half a million accounts so far, with work continuing at an accelerated pace to complete all remaining accounts within the next few days.

The bank apologized to its customers for any delays resulting from technical challenges, emphasizing its full commitment to the principles of transparency, protecting depositors’ rights, and enhancing the efficiency of the banking system to serve the interests of the citizen first and foremost.
