Minister of Human Resources Tours IDPs Camps in Northern State

The Federal Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Mutasim Ahmed Saleh, arrived at Dongola Airport in the Northern State on Monday as part of an inspection tour to assess the conditions of internally displaced persons (IDPs)in several localities with the state.
In a press statements, the Minister explained that his visit to the Northern State comes within the framework of field inspection and monitoring of internally displaced persons camps and embodies the Ministry’s commitment to providing humanitarian aid and basic services to affected families.
He also launched the distribution of 25,000 heaters donated by businessman Fadl Mohamed Khair to displaced persons in the state, according to the Sudan News Agency.
The Minister affirmed that the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development is giving special attention to the situation of displaced persons and is working according to a comprehensive plan to secure their basic needs, particularly in the areas of shelter, heating, and social support. He emphasized the importance of fair and organized access to all displaced families in the various localities.
He indicated that the visit program covers the localities of Al-Barqiq, Dalgo, Halfa, Al-Quld, Ad-Dabba, and Merowe, with the aim of assessing the conditions of displaced persons on the ground, ensuring the smooth flow of aid distribution, and addressing any challenges hindering the delivery of support to those entitled to it, in coordination with the state government and relevant authorities.
The Minister expressed his deep appreciation for the efforts of the Northern State government and its citizens in hosting displaced persons, commending what he described as the significant national and humanitarian role played by the state. He affirmed that the Northern State has received displaced persons on an unprecedented scale, hosting more than 50,000 families under exceptional circumstances that require concerted official and public efforts.
The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development announced the continuation of federal support and revealed arrangements for provide further humanitarian contributions in the coming phase, in addition to additional support from businessman Fadl Mohamed Khair, to support the stability of displaced persons and improve their living conditions in the Northern State.
