2,267 Doctors Sit for the Medical Specialties Council Exams in 10 Centers

The Medical Specialties Council exams (April 2025 session – Batch 53) began on Saturday at the University of Dongola, with 2,267 students sitting for the first part of the exam.

Professor Ahmed Farah Shadol, Secretary-General of the Sudanese National Council for Medical Specialties, confirmed in press statements that the exams are being held electronically in (16) centers, including (10) centers within Sudan.

Shadol indicated that doctors are sitting for exams in the specialties of (internal medicine, community medicine, general surgery, orthopedics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, pediatric surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, anesthesia, intensive care, oncology, and pathological tissue treatment).

He added that the Sudanese National Council for Medical Specialties was able to overcome the challenges facing the exams, especially power outages and weak internet connections.

For his part, Professor Al-Waleed Mustafa Ibrahim, Director of Dongola University, expressed the university’s pleasure at hosting the Sudanese National Council for Medical Specialties exams on a regular basis at the university’s center in Dongola, as well as hosting the council’s offices and several Sudanese universities due to the war. He emphasized that the university has provided all the technical support needed to enable the Sudanese National Council for Medical Specialties to conduct the exams in a satisfactory manner.

Professor Mohamed Osman Al-Omda, Chairman of the Emergency Committee of the Sudanese National Council for Medical Specialties and Director of the Dongola Center, explained that the exams consist of three sessions of a sufficient duration. He emphasized that they are proceeding well and according to the plan established under the supervision of the council’s leadership. He wished success to all doctors taking the exams.
