Following the Sudanese Armed Forces’ control of the Presidential Palace in the capital, Khartoum, congratulatory statements poured in celebrating the decisive victory over the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, nearly two years after the outbreak of war in Sudan in mid-April 2023.

Minister of Culture and Information and official government spokesperson, Khalid Al-Ayser, wrote on his Facebook page regarding the liberation of the Republican Palace at dawn on Friday:

“For those who thought it was just a joke, in the epics of national dignity, the blood of martyrs has always mingled with Sudan’s pure soil, blending the spirited breath of our ancestors with the determined spirit of new generations carrying forward the same journey.”

He continued:

“I speak of our valiant army, of men whose will never breaks, whose resolve never wavers, and whose hearts beat only for love of the homeland and its pride. As for the Janjaweed, mercenaries, and their internal and external collaborators, they thought this was merely a joke. They failed to realize that the Sudanese dignity battle is not just another military confrontation recorded in history books. Rather, it is an eternal message to future generations, declaring that dignity is earned through the steadfastness of heroes.”

The Minister added:

“The undeniable truth is that every step taken by our brave soldiers since the morning of April 15, 2023, up to today, culminating in reaching the palace with its political and historical symbolism, has written a new chapter of glory in the record of a nation that knows only honor and pride. With the palace reclaimed, history regains its brilliance, refreshing the memory of the homeland and its people.”

He affirmed:

“Through their bravery in every battle and the tangible evidence of sacrifices and heroism, our soldiers have proven that land watered with pure blood remains invincible to enemies. No matter how times change and generations pass, these great battles will stand as testimony to the triumph of truth over falsehood, especially when carried by Sudanese men and women who fear only God.”

General Intelligence Service Statement

The General Intelligence Service (GIS) extended congratulations to the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, his aides, the Chief of Staff and its members, the heroic soldiers of the Armed Forces, the supporting forces in the battle of honor and dignity, and to the Sudanese people.

A statement from the GIS read:

“With unwavering hearts, unyielding determination, and firm faith in victory, we at the General Intelligence Service—leaders, officers, and soldiers—extend our highest congratulations and pride on the great victory achieved today by liberating the Republican Palace, the symbol of sovereignty and the eternal emblem of the Sudanese state.”

It continued:

“This clear victory is the culmination of your steadfastness, courage, and belief in the justice of your cause, affirming to the world that Sudan cannot be defeated, that its dignity remains intact, and that its sovereignty is not negotiable. Today, the banner of truth rises, falsehood is shattered, and the deception of rebellion and treachery is exposed, with the national flag soaring high through the sacrifices of our martyrs and the determination of our heroic fighters.”

The statement added:

“As we share this historic moment, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to remain at the forefront—an unbreakable sword and an impenetrable shield—until every inch of Sudan’s pure land is cleansed of the stain of treason and betrayal. There is no retreat, no compromise, and no bargaining over the nation’s sovereignty and security.”

Minister of Finance

Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Jibril Ibrahim, stated:

“By the grace of God and the sacrifices of our honorable martyrs, on this blessed Friday of the holy month, the Sudanese people have finally laid to rest the delusions of the political project of the rebel gangs and their supporters, as the Armed Forces reclaimed the Republican Palace.”

He continued:

“We congratulate our proud people on this great victory and ask God to accept our martyrs with His vast mercy, heal our wounded, free our captives, and protect Sudan and its people.”

Ministry of Justice

The Ministry of Justice issued a statement congratulating the Sudanese nation on the liberation of the Republican Palace, the symbol of national sovereignty, from the hands of the rebel RSF militia.

The statement read:

“From the early hours of this morning, history is recording a great day among the immortal days of God, thanks to the bravery of our Armed Forces, as they declare to all the liberation of strategic central Khartoum, with the pinnacle being the symbol of national sovereignty—the Republican Palace—seized by force, reviving memories of the people’s heroic struggles to reclaim their dignity from traitors and mercenaries.”

The ministry’s statement added:

“With the recovery and liberation of the Republican Palace from the rebel RSF elements and their collaborating mercenaries, the country enters a new phase, marked by the eradication of the militia and the punishment of all those who collaborated with, supported, or politically shielded them in igniting this war. We will pursue them internally and externally, applying the principles of justice, the rule of law, and ensuring accountability.”

Ministry of Energy and Petroleum

Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Dr. Mohieldin Naim Mohamed Said, along with ministry employees, congratulated the Sudanese people and the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council on the Armed Forces’ victories and the liberation of the Republican Palace.

A press statement from the ministry saluted the brave soldiers and their leaders for raising the nation’s pride in the epic battles of the dignity war, a story to be passed down to future generations and studied in military academies as an example of urban warfare.

The ministry affirmed that Sudan will neither submit nor be defeated, stating:

“Our forces have fought heroically to defend its honor, sovereignty, land, and people. These are moments added to modern Sudanese history, proving that victory always belongs to heroes and those who stand for truth.”

National Coordination and the Umma Party

Mohamed Sayed Ahmed Sarkhatim Al-Jakoumi, Secretary-General of the National Coordination for National Forces, stated:

“The battle to liberate the palace is not just about reclaiming a building; it is about reclaiming a nation from the filth of rebellion, traitors, and agents. It is a battle for honor and dignity, safeguarding our precious homeland, and continuing the sacrifices of our forefathers. The banner of dignity, freedom, and independence raised by Sudanese national heroes, led by the late leader Al-Azhari, will never fall. It will remain high, guarded by men who remain true to their pledge to God. History repeats itself, and once again, colonialist projects fall at the palace gates.”

The Umma Party, led by Mubarak Al-Mahdi, congratulated the Armed Forces, other security agencies, and the popular resistance on the great victories achieved in central Khartoum, where the armored corps army joined forces with the General Command army, defeating the Dagalo militia and reclaiming the Republican Palace.

The party’s statement described the victory as a pivotal step toward restoring security and stability in the capital. It highlighted the professionalism with which the Armed Forces managed the urban warfare, preserving civilian lives and infrastructure.

The statement further accused the RSF of implementing a criminal agenda similar to ISIS in Mosul and Boko Haram in Nigeria, aiming to destroy Sudanese institutions and displace its people.

Governors’ Congratulations

Several state governors congratulated the Armed Forces, emphasizing the battle’s significance in preserving Sudan’s unity. The governors of Gezira, Gedaref, Kassala, and Sennar praised the Armed Forces’ strategic planning, hailing the victory as a crucial step toward eradicating the rebellion and rebuilding the nation.

The Governor of Sennar announced that his state was now free of rebellion, making it the first state to be completely secure. He lauded the strong bond between the Sudanese people and their army, embodying the motto: “One Army, One People.”
