UNSC to Officially Include RSF Leaders on Its Sanctions List

Sudanhorizon – Exclusive – Mariam Absher

Confirmed information obtained by the Sudanhorizon News website from special sources revealed that the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) will hold a special session on Sudan next week, during which council members will discuss a draft resolution to renew sanctions on Darfur.

The same sources revealed that the council will include two military leaders in the Rapid Support Forces militia on Friday, August 30, on the sanctions list imposed by the council on those accused of involvement in war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The sources added that Osman Mohamed (AKA: Osman “Operations”) and Abdel Rahman (Jalha), two of the most prominent military leaders in the Rapid Support Forces militia, will have their names officially included tomorrow, Friday, on the sanctions list issued by the UN Security Council.

It is worth noting that the United States of America has previously included some military leaders from the Rapid Support Forces militia on its ban lists, and Osman was among them.
