Djibouti Calls for Unified African-Led Peace Process to End Sudan Crisis

New York – Sudanhorizon

Djibouti’s Foreign Minister Abdoulkader Hussein Omar called on the international community to support a single, unified peace process for the crisis in Sudan under the auspices of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and the African Union, in close coordination with international partners.

Speaking at a meeting held in New York today on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly to discuss joint efforts to de-escalate the conflict and support Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue, the minister stressed his country’s categorical rejection of foreign interference.

He underscored the need to launch an inclusive national dialogue and demonstrate genuine and tangible political will, describing both as essential conditions for restoring peace and sustainable stability in Sudan.
