The passing of Sudanese artist Nemat Hammad
The Sudanese dramatic artist, Nemat Hammad, the former wife of the singer Al-Tayeb Abdullah, died in the British capital, London, on Wednesday.
The late Nemat became famous in the mid-sixties and appeared to the public on television, and was recorded in the list of the first Sudanese actress to appear on the crystal screen in theatrical, television and radio roles, including the works of Hassan Abdel Majeed. She starred in the play “Kishk Nasia”, by the writer and director Hamdna Abdel Qader, and participated in Starring with actor Makki Sinada.
I worked with the late Al-Fadil Saeed in the Al-Mawlid Theater in Khartoum, and toured with his theatrical troupe in most cities in Sudan. At the beginning of the theatrical seasons of Professor Al-Faki Abdel-Rahman, I participated in the plays Al-Zawbaa – Horse Al-Bayaha – Tajuj.
