Sudan’s Ambassador in Brussels Discloses Date of EU Representative’s Upcoming Visit

Brussels – Sudanhorizon – Mariam

Sudan’s ambassador to Belgium and head of the Sudanese mission to the European Union, Ambassador Abdel Bagi Hamdan Kabir, disclosed in an exclusive statement to Sudanhorizon news outlet that the EU Special Representative will visit Port Sudan in early December as part of a regional tour planned for several countries.
Kabir stated that Anita Weber will meet with several officials to discuss various issues related to the ongoing war and its political and humanitarian consequences.
The ambassador highlighted the importance of the EU envoy personally witnessing the realities on the ground by engaging with all parties and listening to their perspectives. At the same time, he criticised the European Union’s stance on the Sudanese crisis. He called for a more significant and effective role, particularly by pressuring countries that support and provide assistance to the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in their war against the Sudanese people.
Kabir emphasised that Sudan’s current conflict results from a large-scale plan involving international and regional parties. He specifically pointed to documented evidence of the UAE’s provision of weapons and logistical support to the RSF, which has prolonged the war. He attributed Abu Dhabi’s actions to ambitions of controlling strategic locations along the Red Sea coast and seizing Sudan’s natural resources.
He also condemned the RSF’s crimes and atrocities against the Sudanese people, describing them as violations of international laws and conventions, amounting to war crimes.
