SAF Seizes Strategic Area Near Kurmuk

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) announced on Sunday they have full control of the “Al-Baraka” area in the Blue Nile region, bringing them closer to the strategic city of Kurmuk.
The 4th Infantry Division Command stated in a press release that “the Armed Forces (SAF) and supporting forces, carried out decisive military operations in the Al-Baraka area, resulting in the defeat of the Rapid Support Forces militias and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North alliance, the full clearing of the area, and that they inflicted heavy losses on the alliance in terms of lives and equipment, in addition to the destruction and capture of military equipment.”
The statement explained that the operation is part of a military plan aimed at strengthening security and stability on the eastern borders of the Blue Nile region and preventing smuggling and human trafficking activities that are prevalent in the border areas.
