Nouakchott – Sudanhorizon

The technical director of the Sudanese national football team, Kwasi Appiah, opened the file of the two matches against Tanzania in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers on October 27 and November 3 in Dar es Salaam and Nouakchott and decided to gather the team in a short camp starting from Monday in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott.

The technical staff decided to add the trio of Al-Samani Al-Sawi, Faris Al-Nour, and Al-Tayeb Abdel-Razzaq to the main list of tournament participants, along with the trio of the youth team, Al-Barai Jamal, Munther Tebo, and Musa Hussein.

According to the regulations of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), participation in the tournament is limited to players who are regulars in local tournaments, which deprives the Sudanese team of the involvement of about 13 players who are active in African, Arab, European, and Australian leagues.

Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania will host the final tournament from 1 to 28 February 2025. Two rounds of qualifiers will be played on a home-and-away basis before the continental finals. The first round of qualifiers will take place from 25 to 27 October and 1 to 3 November 2024, while the second round will be held from 20 to 22 December and 27 to 29 December 2024.

Since its inception in 2009, the African Nations Championship has been an exceptional competition for discovering talent on the African continent.
