Sudanese Foreign Minister: We Are Committed to the Jeddah Platform “as the Only Platform for Negotiation”

The Sudanese Foreign Minister announced his country’s commitment to the Jeddah platform as the only platform for negotiation with the Rapid Support Militia.

This came during his speech at the conclusion of a conference in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, entitled “Sudan: The Forgotten War,” according to a statement by the Foreign Ministry.

The Minister, Ambassador Hussein Awad Ali, confirmed that the Sudanese Armed Forces are capable of defeating the rebellion.

The Sudanese Foreign Minister indicated in the conference, which was attended by Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohammed Hassan, that the reason that led to the continuation of this war imposed on Sudan is the continuous logistical and political support that the rebel Rapid Support Militia receives from regional and international countries.

The Minister stressed during his speech that Sudan is committed to the Jeddah Forum as the only platform for negotiation and the necessity of implementing its outcomes and applying the decisions to protect civilians as a precondition for reaching a final ceasefire agreement. He also explained that Sudan looks forward to the Malaysian role in demanding regional countries stop supporting the rebels. He appealed to the countries of the world, especially sister and friendly countries, including Malaysia, to condemn the rebel militias and classify them as a terrorist organization.

On the other hand, the Minister stressed that Sudan is committed to delivering relief to those in need, unlike what the militias are doing, which loot the relief in the areas in which they are located. He also appealed to the international community and relief organizations to fulfill their obligations and provide the necessary food and health aid.

The Minister thanked the Malaysian government for the special program for Sudan, through which it granted Sudanese citizens exceptional residencies.
