Sudanese Dialogue Committee Representatives Discuss Cooperation with “Quintet” Delegation

Members of the Committee for Preparing the Sudanese Dialogue presented representatives of the “Quintet” with a comprehensive overview of the committee’s work and its mandate to create the conditions necessary for an inclusive Sudanese-led dialogue to be held inside the country, as part of the political process aimed at addressing the root causes of the Sudanese crisis.

According to a press statement issued Friday by the Office of the Spokesperson for the Sudanese Dialogue, the meeting featured extensive discussions and an exchange of views on ways to create an appropriate environment for launching a comprehensive dialogue inside Sudan, ensuring broad participation and enhancing prospects for reaching sustainable solutions.

In this context, the Quintet reaffirmed, according to the statement, its full support for a genuinely Sudanese-owned dialogue process and stressed the principles of Sudan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, while rejecting any parallel institutions to the Sudanese state. The Quintet delegation also expressed its commitment to maintaining communication with the committee in support of this national process.

For their part, committee members affirmed that the two sides share common visions and objectives, and that coordination and complementary roles could be strengthened in ways that contribute to addressing the political and social causes of the current war and previous conflicts, ultimately leading to lasting peace in Sudan.

The two sides agreed on the need to maintain communication during the coming period, strengthen cooperation, and contribute to accelerating the achievement of the desired objectives.
