Tehran – Sudanhorizon – Maryam
The Sudanese Ambassador to Tehran, Abdel Aziz Hassan Saleh, described the recent visit by the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, to Iran as fruitful and highly successful.
Saleh told the “Sudanhorizon” news site that the coming period will see the exchange of technical delegation visits, including experts in mining, agricultural manufacturing, and more, and visits by several businessmen to initiate steps toward establishing the Sudanese-Iranian joint company.
Ambassador Abdel Aziz noted that the Minister of Finance received an invitation to visit from his Iranian counterpart, Dr. Abdolnasser Hemmati, two months ago. He added that the ministers discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation following the resumption of relations between the two countries, which had been cut off since 2016. They hoped to resolve all obstacles to economic, investment, and technical cooperation.
The ambassador revealed that the Minister of Finance met with the Iranian Minister of Trade, Industry, and Mines during the visit, where they agreed to remove all barriers for businesspeople in both countries to facilitate interaction. They decided to establish a joint holding company and two trade centres in Sudan and Iran and to exchange technical delegations in the industrial sector. In his meeting with the Foreign Minister, they reaffirmed their commitment to developing bilateral relations. The Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, also sent a message to his Sudanese counterpart, Dr. Ali Youssef, congratulating him on his new position and expressing eagerness to advance the relationship.
Additionally, during the visit, Dr. Jibril met with Sudanese students studying in the city of Qom, listened to their concerns, and updated them on recent developments in Sudan.
