Sudan Unveils Growth Program and Strategic Partnerships to Drive African Integration

The State Minister at the Ministry of Finance, Advisor Mohammed Nour Abdeldaim, participated in the meeting of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors of the African Group One (AG1) at the World Bank, held as part of the 2026 Spring Meetings in Washington.

The meeting focused on the economic performance of member countries during 2025, as well as the exceptional conditions affecting the Middle East, and reviewed economic indicators for the first quarter of 2026.

In his address, the State Minister highlighted indicators of economic recovery in Sudan, noting the government’s return to Khartoum State. He stressed that deepening international strategic partnerships and launching major regional projects represent a gateway for Sudan and the continent toward economic integration and shared prosperity.

He emphasized the importance of strengthening international partnerships, mutual trade benefits, and regional projects among African countries. He also announced a medium-term program aimed at accelerating efforts to create a conducive environment for growth and future readiness by opening new and diverse investment opportunities. This includes launching a package of infrastructure projects, improving the business environment, mobilizing private sector capital and stimulating its potential, enhancing accountability, and creating sustainable jobs, in addition to capacity building, addressing current challenges, removing constraints, and restructuring debt at lower cost.

The State Minister further stressed the need to enhance governance and transparency to improve tax collection efficiency and other revenues. He also called on the World Bank and international financial institutions to fulfill their role in supporting countries affected by conflicts and crises, particularly Sudan.
