Marawi – Mohamed Mustafa Al-Mamoun

The joint meeting of the Organizing Committee for Competitions at the Sudanese Football Association, the Legal Committee, Members Affairs, and the Players’ Status Committee decided this morning (Tuesday) in the city of Marawi to return activities in the country and issue a new map for the sports season.

The meeting approved the launch of the Premier League with the group system on January 10 (2025 AD) and the General League with the regional system in mid-January.

The teams were divided into (4) groups (West, River Nile, East, and North) and the regions were obligated to provide housing and training grounds, with the two top teams (Al-Hilal and Al-Merreikh) participating in the Super Cup stage to determine representatives in external tournaments.

According to the meeting’s decisions, the General League competition will be played according to the new system approved by the Board of Directors, so that each region in the basic system plays a contest between the champions of its federations and its champions qualify for the final stage in which all the ascending teams from the regions participate.
