Spokesperson of the JEM to “Sudanhorizon”: Security Conditions in El Fasher Are Under Control

Dr. Mohammed Zakaria, the official spokesperson for the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), confirmed that the security situation in North Darfur State is under the control of the armed and joint forces, asserting that they have the initiative in the area.

In an exclusive statement to the news website “Sudanhorizon,” Zakaria said that the hollow threats of the Rapid Support Forces militia are part of their media propaganda to spread panic among civilians in El Fasher. He emphasized that the armed and joint forces have achieved significant victories on the ground, stating, “We have inflicted major defeats on the militia.” He added that the situation in El Fasher is stable, with strong cohesion among the armed forces, joint forces, and mobilized volunteers and that things are completely calm.

He further noted that the only disruptions involve sporadic artillery shelling by the militia targeting the Zamzam IDP camp and some residential areas. Zakaria reassured everyone about the overall stability of the situation and urged citizens not to be influenced or fall victim to the Rapid Support Forces’ media statements.

Earlier on Monday morning, the Rapid Support Forces had given the armed and joint forces a 48-hour ultimatum to withdraw from El Fasher.
