SAF Regains Control Over Border Areas with South Sudan

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) announced the recapture of 9 areas bordering South Sudan from the grip of the rebel Rapid Support Militia.
SAF official spokesman Brigadier General Nabil Abdullah said in a press statement received by the Sudanhorizon News website that in a simultaneous and coordinated activity, SAF forces in the Blue Nile, White Nile, and Sinnar states were able to destroy the Janjaweed gangs in the areas of Al-Dali, Al-Mazmum, Al-Jafrat, Al-Malisa, Qali, Abu Arif, Al-Qarbin, Roro, and Al-Tabun, forcefully regaining back after defeating the militias.
He explained that this resulted from a coordinated action carried out by military units in the states of White Nile, Sinnar, and Blue Nile to secure the borders with South Sudan, which has been witnessing security disturbances and political tensions for days.
