Russian Companies to Visit Port Sudan at the End of This Year and Early Next Year

The Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Dr. Mohieddin Naim Mohamed Saeed, confirmed the ministry’s readiness to welcome delegations from Russian companies expected to visit Sudan in two phases: at the end of this year and early next year.
This announcement came during a meeting with the Russian Ambassador to Sudan in his office on Monday. The discussions covered several areas in Russia’s plans to invest in Sudan, including oil, gas, and electricity.
The Minister emphasized that Sudan has reached an advanced understanding with Russia in the fields of oil and electricity. He expressed a preference for collaborating with major countries like Russia and China through their large corporations, particularly in energy and oil projects located in secure regions.
The Russian Ambassador noted that major Russian companies have the capability to safeguard their investments. He revealed that a delegation of Russian companies, led by the head of the Russian-Sudanese Intergovernmental Committee, would visit Sudan. The ambassador pledged to organize the visit at a high level, highlighting Russia’s expertise in step-by-step economic development initiatives.
He added that Russia possesses well-established expertise in advancing various sectors, including electricity, oil, railways, manufacturing, roads, ports, and infrastructure development, aimed at bolstering Sudan’s economy as a whole.
