Jibril Ibrahim to Sudanhorizon: Rapid Support Forces Will Lose Their Positions Before Activists’ Government Materializes

Cairo – Sudanhorizon – Sabah Musa

Sudanese Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr Jibril Ibrahim, stated that there is significant disagreement among the activists of the Civilian Forces Coordinating Body (Tagaddom) regarding the idea of forming a parallel government in areas under the control of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

In an exclusive statement to Sudanhorizon, Ibrahim said, “It is likely that the idea of forming a parallel government will die in its infancy.” He added that the key takeaway from this proposal is that it confirms that the Tagaddom activists are the political wing of the RSF; otherwise, the militia would not have allowed them to form a government in its areas of temporary control.

He asserted that they would fail to establish a government on Sudanese soil and that the Sudanese people would reject them. He further stated, “The RSF is on its way to losing all its positions before the activists’ government can even materialize.”

Ibrahim emphasized that the actions of the RSF reflect their true nature, as they target unarmed civilians—a fact witnessed by the entire world. He added, “The RSF assumes that everyone is as unruly as their mercenaries.”

He defended the record of the joint forces, stating they have a spotless history and have never attacked civilians, particularly in the Zarqa area. Ibrahim clarified that Zarqa is a military zone used for storing weapons and mobilizing troops.
