PSC Delegation Arrives in Port Sudan and Engages in Meetings With Officials
Port Sudan – SUNA – Sudanhorizon
A delegation from the African Peace and Security Council, which began a visit to Port Sudan on Thursday, met with the state leadership upon its arrival to discuss ways to end the war in Sudan and to understand the Sudanese government’s vision of freezing Sudan’s membership in the African Union.
Immediately upon arrival at Port Sudan airport, the delegation moved to the temporary headquarters of the Council of Ministers and engaged in intensive meetings with Council officials.
The Arab Republic of Egypt chairs the current session of the African Peace and Security Council, and the delegation includes ambassadors, heads of missions, and delegates of the 15 member states of the Council.
All previous efforts made by the African Union to find a solution to the crisis in Sudan and to carry out fair mediation to open a horizon for ending the war have failed.
It is noteworthy that this visit is the first by the African Peace and Security Council since the outbreak of the war and the aggression of the rebel Rapid Support Militia against the state and the people.
