Prime Minister Briefed on Work of International Litigation Committee and Legal Avenues to Prosecute “Militia”

The Prime Minister, Kamil Idris, has received a briefing on the work of the International Litigation Committee tasked with pursuing legal action against the rebel militia, its collaborators, and its supporters, as well as on proposals concerning new avenues of litigation before the International Court of Justice and other relevant international courts.
This came during his meeting this afternoon in Khartoum with the Minister of Justice, Abdullah Mohamed Draf, who stated in a press briefing that he had submitted to the Prime Minister a draft prepared by the committee responsible for reviewing land-related legislation and cataloguing associated disputes, to facilitate and attract investment.
The Minister added that the meeting also addressed the outcomes of his visits to Gezira State and Gedaref State, conducted as part of efforts to strengthen the rule of law, as well as the inauguration of new premises for the Legal Administration in Gedaref State.
Furthermore, the Minister briefed the Prime Minister on the activities of the Committee for the Prevention of Illegal Levies, including the results of its field visits to eastern and northern states, the violations it had identified, and the measures taken to curb such practices. Mr Draf affirmed that the committee would continue its field tours in the coming days.
