PM Discusses Peace Strategy and Implementation of Juba Agreement with Darfur Governor

Prime Minister Kamil Idris met on Tuesday with the Governor of the Darfur Region, Minni Arko Minnawi, to discuss key and pressing issues shaped by the country’s current challenges.

In a press statement, the Darfur governor said the meeting addressed urgent humanitarian issues and related international developments, as well as the importance of developing a strategic vision to achieve sustainable and comprehensive peace in the coming phase.

Minnawi added that the discussion also covered the administrative and practical aspects of implementing the Juba Peace Agreement, noting that both sides emphasized the need to expedite the drafting of the law regulating the Government of the Darfur Region in the near future.
