Official Sources: Sudan’s Ambassador to Addis Ababa Returns Today.

Sudan’s ambassador to Addis Ababa and its permanent representative to the African Union, Al-Zein Ibrahim Hussein, is expected to return to the country today (Tuesday), following a summons issued on Monday by the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The summons was issued in protest against Ethiopia’s blatant involvement in attacks on Sudanese civilian facilities and its allowing strategic drones to be launched from its territory to target Khartoum International Airport.
Foreign and International Cooperation Minister, Mohi El-Din Salem, announced o Monday the summoning of the ambassador to Ethiopia for consultations with the political leadership. In diplomatic practice, this step precedes the withdrawal of the ambassador or the severing of relations.
According to government sources who spoke to Sudanhorizon, the ambassador’s return to Addis Ababa will depend on the final position the Sudanese government will take later. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation hinted at a press conference, held alongside the official spokesperson for the Sudanese Armed Forces, that the recall of the ambassador from Addis Ababa could be followed by further escalatory measures, to be determined by Sudan, should Ethiopia persist in its aggression against the country and its targeting of civilian facilities and infrastructure belonging to the Sudanese people.
The Minister and the official spokesperson for the Sudanese Armed Forces revealed at the joint press conference, Monday, that the attack on Khartoum International Airport was carried out by a strategic drone purchased by the United Arab Emirates, which was launched from Bahir Dar Airport in Ethiopia, near the Sudanese border.
