Conclusion of Livestock Rearing and Fattening Course in Dongola

The Hall of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports in Dongola hosted on Monday the conclusion of a livestock rearing and fattening course . This course was part of an entrepreneurship project aimed at training 1,000 young men and women in productive sectors. The event was attended by Major General (Ret.) Dr. Abdul-Rahman Ahmed Faqiri, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports in the Northern State; Dr. Al-Tayeb Habib-Allah, Secretary-General of the State’s Supreme Council for Livestock, Fisheries, and Pastures; as well as various officials, trainers, and participating youth.
Dongola University oversaw both the theoretical and practical aspects of the course and provided qualified trainers. Dr. Al-Tayeb Hammad led the training, imparting specialized knowledge to participants in areas such as livestock rearing, calf fattening, and animal production management.
The program also included a field visit to the integrated strategic project at the Dongola Model Farm. There, trainees observed the practical experience firsthand and received comprehensive explanations regarding breed rearing, care and feeding methods, and calf-fattening processes. This visit reinforced the course’s practical component, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and actual practice.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Ahmed Faqiri emphasized the pivotal role played by the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports in training, qualifying, and economically empowering young people. He commended the ongoing support provided by Dongola University and the Defense Industries System companies—led by Al-Rasiyat Company for Agricultural and Livestock Production—in ensuring the success of these youth-oriented training and production programs. The Supreme Council for Youth and Sports announced plans to establish the first association for young livestock producers who have undergone training. The initiative aims to organize their efforts and translate the training and knowledge they have acquired into tangible productive projects, with the hope that these projects will soon come to fruition and serve as a nucleus for sustainable, youth-led productive ventures.

For his part, Dr. Al-Tayeb Habiballah—Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Livestock, Fisheries, and Pastures in the Northern State—affirmed the Council’s readiness to provide in-kind and technical support to the trainees. This support is intended to help them leverage their newly acquired skills and transform them into sustainable productive projects within the livestock sector.
Dr. Al-Tayeb commended the efforts of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports regarding vocational and productive training. He highlighted the importance of programs designed to qualify young people and empower them economically, noting that these efforts are part of a broader project aiming to train one thousand young men and women across various production sectors.
In a related context, Tariq Al-Kindi Youssef, the course coordinator, emphasized the high level of engagement and enthusiasm shown by the youth. He noted that they gained significant theoretical knowledge and practical experience, which will enable them to translate what they have learned into real productive projects in the near future.
He added that the course was an outstanding experience by all standards, combining academic training, practical application, and field visits. He also highlighted the effective partnership established between the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Dongola University, the Defense Industries Group companies, and the Supreme Council for Livestock, Fisheries, and Pastures.
