Mosaad Boulos Denies Reaching an Agreement with the Sudanese Government on Humanitarian Truce and Peace Issues

Washington -Sudanhorizon
Mosaad Boulos, Senior Advisor on Arab and African Affairs in the United States, has stated that reports circulating on Sudanese social media regarding an agreement on most issues related to the humanitarian truce are inaccurate, reiterating the same position expressed in a brief statement following a meeting of the Sudanese Defense and Security Council.
In a lengthy comment on his X account, Boulos explained that some recent comments and reports have misunderstood the ongoing efforts to negotiate a humanitarian truce and a peace plan for Sudan.
He added that the recent claims of full acceptance of the main issues are inaccurate, as are the claims that only one issue remains unresolved.
He went on to say that they are continuing discussions and pressing the parties on specific proposals, with several core issues still unaccepted or outright rejected.
He emphasized that any formal agreement will be officially announced. In the meantime, public comments, speculation, and purported documents suggesting an agreement or “settled” issues are unofficial and do not contribute to the discussion.
He added that their focus is on facilitating a serious and constructive dialogue that can lead to a humanitarian truce and a comprehensive and lasting plan for a peaceful political transition in Sudan.
