Member of Libya’s High Council of State to “Sudanhorizon”: Haftar’s Intervention in Sudan Is a War Crime

Cairo – Sudanhorizon – Sabah Mousa
Amina Amtair, a member of the High Council of State in Libya, confirmed that the participation of Khalifa Haftar’s forces alongside the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in the attack on the border triangle between Sudan, Egypt, and Libya is not surprising.
In an exclusive statement to Sudanhorizon news outlet, Amtair said that both Haftar’s forces and the RSF receive support from the same state, so this development is not unexpected. She added that if the Sudanese army proves this intervention, it should take the matter to the International Court of Justice, stressing that what is happening constitutes genocide and a war crime against a peaceful population. She noted that the Sudanese people are among the most tranquil in the world and emphasised that the Libyan people firmly reject this intervention.
Amtair considered the interference of any state in the affairs of another as a form of aggression, affirming that it poses a regional threat to the entire area. She warned that if such forces dare to interfere once, they are likely to repeat it in other countries as well.
