North Darfur Qualifies for the Fourth African School Championship After Defeating Al-Daein

The Director General of the Ministry of Education in North Darfur and Acting Minister, Mukhtar Ismail Hamed, praised the state delegation participating in the fourth African School Championship – Darfur Sector, which concluded on Monday at Jamisca Stadium in Khartoum.
Mukhtar affirmed that the victory of the state’s student delegation, which came from Al-Afadh Camp for displaced persons in Ad-Dabbah, carries a strong message that education and determination are capable of overcoming the effects of war and displacement. He noted that the students presented an honorable example of resilience and excellence.
According to the Sudan News Agency, Mukhtar said: “The victory of our students in the competition is a triumph of determination over the conditions of war and displacement. They have proven that the passion for learning and fair competition does not stop despite the harshness of reality.”
He added that the ministry will work to provide full technical and moral support to the delegation ahead of the upcoming national stage, expressing hope that they will represent Sudan honorably in the finals of the fourth African School Championship in Kigali in July 2026.
North Darfur secured qualification after defeating Al-Daein Western Intermediate School by one goal to nil in the final match. The state was represented by Al-Fasher Electronic School for Boys.
With this result, the North Darfur delegation advances to the national competitions scheduled to take place on June 10 in Khartoum, where the team that will represent Sudan in the finals of the fourth African School Championship will be selected.
The final match witnessed broad official and public attendance, led by the Minister of Education of North Darfur and Dr. Abdeljalil Saleh, Director of School Activities at the Federal Ministry, in addition to the head of the General Union of Sudanese Students in the state and several leaders from the Justice and Equality Movement and the Joint Forces Coordination in Khartoum.
