SAF Spokesman: The Militia Abandoned Heavy Weaponry in Khartoum

Cairo – Sudanhorizon – Sabah Musa
The official spokesman for the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), Brigadier General Nabil Abdullah, has confirmed that the militias have left behind a large number of weapons in Khartoum.
He told Sudanhorizon news website that the militia left behind artillery, machine guns, and various types of weapons, including heavy, medium, and light ones. He also said that they found ammunition and drone stores in the basements of some buildings in residential neighborhoods in Khartoum.
The spokesman indicated that two heavy cannons were seized inside private properties in Khartoum. He added that the militia has been using citizens’ homes as military bases and the civilians themselves were used as human shields. He pointed out that the weapons found were of various origins, and that the militia did not import them from the country of origin but, rather, obtained them through countries that sponsor the militias and are allied with them.
Brigadier General Nabil confirmed that Khartoum has now been cleared, and that residents there testify that the militia was using weapons to shell from within neighborhoods, a claim that cannot be denied. He pointed out that no one believes such reports, or the stories disseminated by some countries and organizations that claim that SAF are the ones shelling defenseless civilians, stressing that this was a baseless and unfounded claim.
