Lamamra: The UN to Take Greater Steps Toward Resolving Sudan’s Crisis

The personal envoy of the UN Secretary-General, Ramtane Lamamra, has confirmed that the United Nations will take greater steps to support efforts to resolve Sudan’s crisis. He expressed his gratitude to Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber, Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Head of the National Committee for Engagement with the United Nations, for the warm reception during his two-day visit to Sudan.
Lieutenant General Engineer Ibrahim Jaber, Member of the Sovereignty Council and Assistant to the Commander-in-Chief received the UN envoy and his accompanying delegation at his office in Port Sudan on Sunday in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Sovereignty Council member praised the UN Secretary-General’s personal attention to developments in Sudan and expressed the Sudanese government’s aspiration for the United Nations to play a larger role in addressing the repercussions of the current crisis.
