JEM Refutes Statements Attributed to its Leader

The Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) has denied a statement attributed to its Leader, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, widely circulated, Saturday.
The JEM pinpointed in statement, signed by JEM Secretary of Information, the official spokesman of the movement, Dr. Muhammad Zakaria Faraj Allah, that in reference to what was being circulated through some media and social networking sites, it would like to stress that this was but a falsified speech citing the president of JEM, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, under the title “Official apology on behalf of the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement”.
The movement underlined that it would like to clarify the following points:
– JEM assures all that the said statement was falsified and baseless.
– The movement indicates that the article in question reflects a personal view that expresses the opinion of its author.
– The movement asserts that forgery is an approach resorted to by the Rapid Support Militia, with the aims of confusing public opinion and distorting facts.
– The movement calls on the media and the public to verify any news or data attributed to JEM by checking JEM official channels, especially its website and JEM’s official accounts on social media platforms.
